Signing land lease with Mr.Lin on No.6 Lane 111, ZhongShan North Road, Sec.3

Jun, 1969

Legal issues arose on Lin’s property with its caretaker leads to abandoning of plan

Nov, 1969

Legal issue resolved and Lin’s property as the site was back in plan-A new lease was signed on Dec. 30th, 1970 for 15 years

Jun 6, 1971

Club officially opened with ribbon cutting ceremony attended by then U.S. Ambassador McConaughy and Taipei Mayor Henry Kao

Nov 1, 1980

Club relocated to the current site on No.47, Bei-an Road(formerly owned by Club 63 and China Seas Club)

The American Club Taipei takes pride in its rich heritage, serving Taiwan's international community since 1968. The current Club site was originally an American Military Club catering to U.S. forces over fifty years ago, today it thrives as a vibrant hub of expatriate life including membership of over 40 nationalities.
