Create Bird and Flower Stamps and make beautiful prints
ACC is very honored to invite the guest art instructor Kristi Thornbury to the Club! In this Block Printing Workshop, discover the tools and techniques of an ancient art form and experience the thrill of making your own rubber block prints. Participants will carve rubber block stamps that can be used over and over again to decorate greeting cards, personalize stationary, and even to print on fabrics! Kristi will lead you in making the Spring and Summer theme “birds and flowers” stamps. If you have no printmaking experience or limited drawing skills but you want to try something fun and creative, then this beginner’s printmaking workshop is just right for you!
About the instructor- Kristi Thornbury
Kristi holds degrees in Fine Arts (Studio Arts) and Visual Arts Education from Mount Allison University and Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in partnership with Mount St. Vincent University, Canada. She taught Visual Arts at The Country Day School, Canada and The Shanghai American School, China before moving to Taipei.
Currently, Kristi teaches workshops for adults in block printing, screen printing, acrylic and watercolor painting at her studio, Yili Arts in Tienmu. Her most recent paintings and prints explore the ways we experience and interpret the natural environment by focusing on the effects of time on memory. Her work can be seen at Sprout Restaurant in Tienmu, and online at yiliarts.com.
