UTR is a global tennis player rating system intended to produce an objective, consistent, and accurate index of players’ skill in the game of tennis. Every player receives a rating between, 1.0 to 16.5, that reflects their level of play. Three factors go into the rating: player competition (i.e. strength of opponent), the score (based on games won), and recent history (last 30 matches played within 12 months). Players can use their UTR to know their skill level and find hitting partners and events within their levels.
Players from ACC have the option to be rated, which they can then compare themselves to fellow tennis playing members and players worldwide via UTR.
The first UTR certifying event will be held on Sunday, March 3, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Anyone wishing to gain a rating, please sign up at the Pro Shop.
For those who are interested and would like additional information related to UTR, an information session will be held outside the Terrace on Thursday, February 21 at 12:00 noon and Saturday, February 23 from 3:00 pm.
