Join us in celebrating the International Day of Charity by supporting two remarkable NGOs—Happy Mount Colony and Society of Wilderness (SOW)—as they bring their causes to life right here in our club lobby. Our Community Outreach programs have been working with these two organizations in the past events, ex: Christmas volunteer in December, 2024 with Happy Mount Colony, and two River Cleaning efforts with SOW. They are no strangers and we highly encourage each family with children to come and interact with them directly to see how you can help and learn more about their causes.
🎯 How You Can Participate
-
Shop for a Cause – Visit each group’s booth to purchase handmade goods, and more. Every item sold directly supports their mission.
-
Donate Generously – Drop contributions into their donation boxes to help them reach their project goals.
-
Learn & Engage – Speak with volunteers, discover their inspiring stories, and see how your support makes a difference.
Happy Mount Colony – Safe Living Curtain Project
Founded in 1934, Happy Mount Colony is Taiwan’s first registered care home, providing round-the-clock support for 118 adults with intellectual and multiple disabilities.
Their Safe Living Curtain Project aims to:
-
Replace old, non-fireproof curtains and partitions ( current ones are over 15 years old)
-
Improve fire safety and indoor temperature control
-
Create a safer, more comfortable environment for residents

Why It’s Urgent:
- Residents have limited mobility and cannot self-evacuate.
- Overheating causes emotional outbursts and caregiver stress.
- High electricity costs due to heavy air-conditioning use.
- Curtains are faded, ineffective, and flammable.
Your Impact: Every dollar helps replace curtains in 30 locations across the facility, directly benefiting 118 residents and staff, lowering energy use, and meeting safety standards.
Society of Wilderness (SOW) – Protecting Borneo’s Rainforest Project
The SOW booth will transform into a “Rainforest Market” for one day, offering an engaging mix of posters, videos, interactive games, and educational storytelling about Borneo’s rainforest. Visitors can explore the ecology, learn about conservation efforts, and enjoy activities designed for both children and adults — making it a fun and meaningful stop for all ages.
Their Borneo Rainforest Project focuses on:
-
Raising awareness of the rainforest crisis
-
Reaching students through exhibitions, storytelling, and environmental camps
-
Cultivating sustainable thinking in future generations
