Q&A with Director Nien-Hua Wu
In celebration of International Women’s Day, we are honored to welcome Wu Nien-Hua, director of A Long Way Home, for a special film night at the Club.
Told from a daughter’s perspective, this deeply personal documentary explores family, love, silence, and resilience. Following the screening, join us for a conversation with the director as she shares her journey behind the camera and the story behind the film.
A Long Way Home was selected for the 2025 Taiwan International Women’s Film Festival and received the Audience Choice Award, highlighting its powerful emotional impact and resonance with viewers.

Director Bio
吳念樺
1994年生於台灣的屏東,曾擔任過記者和台灣立法委員的國會助理,長期關注司法人權和女性議題,因為鍾情於紀錄片形式的創作而自學並開始拍攝這部片,目前就讀台灣藝術大學電影研究所,《萬歲家庭》是他的第一部紀錄長片。
Wu Nien-Hua
Born in Pingtung, Taiwan, in 1994, she has worked as a journalist and as a legislative assistant in Taiwan’s Legislative Yuan. She has long been focused on issues related to judicial human rights and women’s rights. Passionate about documentary filmmaking, she is self-taught and began shooting this film. She is currently studying at the Graduate Institute of Filmmaking at National Taiwan University of Arts. “A Long Way Home” is her first feature-length documentary.
