Junior Tennis Program 2024-2025

 

Season 1: August 19 – December 15, 2024

Season 2: January 13 – June 8, 2025

 

The Club has over 100 juniors taking part each week in our extensive tennis program. If your child would like to learn how to play the game, there is no better place than the Taipei American Club!

Preschool Tennis-1Preschool Tennis (Age 3-5)

  • Monday 3:30 – 4 p.m. / 5 – 5:30 p.m.
  • Saturday 12 – 12:30 p.m.
  • Sunday 1:30 – 2 p.m.

Preschool Tennis is for children aged 3 to 5 years old and enables them to learn the basics and how to enjoy the game through a series of fun activities, based on the fundamental areas of balance, coordination, agility, movement and racket and ball skills. The class takes place indoors.

 


 

Mini Red-1 Mini Red (Age<8)

  • Monday 4:15 – 5 p.m.
  • Wednesday 5 – 5:45 p.m.
  • Saturday 12:30 – 1:15 p.m. / 1:15-2 p.m.
  • Sunday 12 – 12:45 p.m. / 12:45 – 1:30 p.m.

Mini Tennis Red is for players aged 8 and under. It is played on a smaller court area with short rackets and softer balls. It’s just like the real game and gives players opportunities to have long rallies and play different types of shots.

 


 

Mini Orange-1 Mini Orange (Age 8-9)

  • Tuesday 4 – 5 p.m. 
  • Wednesday 4 – 5 p.m.
  • Thursday 4 – 5 p.m.
  • Friday 4 – 5 p.m.

Mini Tennis Orange is a great way for players to continue their progress from Mini Tennis Red and is for players aged 8 and 9. It is played with shorter rackets, softer balls and courts are bigger and wider than the red stage but still smaller than full-size tennis courts allowing players to develop a rounded game whilst learning a range of techniques and tactics. It is the next stage before playing on a full sized court and helps players develop different shots and tactics.

 


 

Mini Green-1Mini Green (Age 9-10)

  • Tuesday 5 – 6 p.m.
  • Thursday 5 – 6 p.m.
  • Saturday  12 – 1 p.m.

Mini Tennis Green is a great way for players aged 9 and 10 to continue their progress from Mini Tennis Orange. It is played on a full-size tennis court, with bigger rackets and balls which are a little softer than yellow balls. It’s the next stage before moving on to full compression yellow balls on a full sized court and helps players develop and improve all aspects of their game.

  • Wednesday –5:00-6:00 PM
  • Friday – 5:00-6:00 PM
  • Saturday – 1:00-2:00 PM

The Yellow Ball l classes are for children who can rally from the baseline and possess basic skills like serving and volleying. Having demonstrated their capabilities, these young athletes are now ready to refine and enhance their abilities. To ensure effective improvement, they are expected to attend at least two classes per week.

  • Monday – 4:00-6:00 PM
  • Thursday – 4:00-6:00 PM
  • Friday – 4:00-6:00 PM
  • Saturday – 12:00-2:00 PM

The Yellow Ball ll classes are for children who are proficient in all aspects of the game. These classes focus on further development with the primary aim of joining their school’s varsity team. Participants are expected to attend at least two classes per week to ensure consistent progress.


In all our courses and squads, ages are only used as guidelines as players will progress with ability, not age.
